In November of 2004 SEFA's Membership approved the establishment of a SEFA-based voluntary product certification program. This program is still being developed and accordingly any claim of “SEFA Certification” is premature.
In 2005, SEFA's Board of Directors designated eight independent testing facilities which are SEFA-Approved Test Labs. These facilities have demonstrated a level of competence and are qualified to test to the SEFA 8 Recommended Practices. Individual companies may submit their product(s) to one of these labs for testing. Evaluation will be performed and a detailed report issued indicating a pass/fail result.
